Part-Time Nanny – Northbrook, ILOne Toddler + New Baby Due in Spring 2026
$33/hour + PTO | Guaranteed Hours | Family Car ProvidedA warm and welcoming family in Northbrook, IL is seeking a part-time nanny to care for their delightful toddler, with duties expanding when a new baby arrives in Spring 2026. The family is looking for a genuine, proactive, and high-energy caregiver who enjoys being silly, nurturing curiosity, and fostering a love of learning through play, reading, and engaging activities.Position Details
Schedule: Thursdays & Fridays, 8 hours per day (guaranteed hours) Additional Hours: Occasional or regular weekend hours may be offered Start Date: Flexible – ASAP Compensation: $33/hour Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO) Location: Northbrook, IL Pets: Cat and dog in the home – nanny must be comfortable with both Transportation: Family car provided for use during work hoursResponsibilities
Provide attentive, loving care for toddler and, later, for both children Follow and maintain consistent nap and feeding schedules Prepare meals and snacks for the children Read, play, and plan activities that promote learning and development Take child(ren) to local activities, classes, and outings Maintain clean and organized child-related areas (toys, playroom, nursery, dishes used by children) Track and organize children’s supplies and restock as needed Fill gas in the family car when necessary Communicate openly and regularly with parents about routines, milestones, and daily activitiesRequirements
- Safety-conscious with a clean driving record and strong judgment
- Enthusiastic, playful, and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and dependable with strong communication skills; demonstrated fluency in English.
- Experienced with newborns through preschool-aged children
- Punctual, reliable, and professional while being warm and engaging
- Comfortable around pets (cat and dog in home)
- Up to date on all vaccinations, including Tdap, MMR, Flu, and COVID
- Up-to-date child Basic Life Support certificate (can be coordinated with family if candidate does not already have certification)
- Minimum 5+ years of professional childcare experience (including infant care)
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Excellent references
